group led by PD Dr Christoph Schmidt specialises in innate immunology with
specific focus on the
"complement system", and studies its instructor roles
for
the entire immune system and general body physiology. Our efforts are
devoted to push the fundamental understanding of complement biology by
characterising complement's never ending list of interaction partners
and its functional implications. We are very keen to utilise basic research in our strive to define and develop new immunological application that one day, may aid patients.
